The organizations raised funds from local private sources and the Museum, known as the Center for the Arts, opened its doors to the public debt free on January 31, 1986. This art book collection (a few thousand in total) was formerly housed in The Vero Beach Museum of Art, but when they wanted to do away with it, Xaque Gruber rescued the entire library and brought them to this new space so the world can benefit and enjoy them.
